{"id":453,"date":"2011-08-15T08:36:55","date_gmt":"2011-08-15T13:36:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucog.org\/blog\/?p=453"},"modified":"2011-08-15T08:36:55","modified_gmt":"2011-08-15T13:36:55","slug":"a-few-days-at-the-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ucog.org\/blog\/index.php\/2011\/08\/15\/a-few-days-at-the-beach\/","title":{"rendered":"A few days at the beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our daughter Rachel and her family invited us to spend a few days with them at the beach at Portofino resort near Pensacola, Florida.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>They were given a week&#8217;s stay at the resort, with a spacious 3 bedroom condominium unit on the 10th floor <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" style=\"padding-left:12px;padding-top:7px;float:right\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ucog.org\/BILDER\/2011-08-15.jpg\" title=\"At the beach\" alt=\"At the beach\" height=\"205\" width=\"275\" \/> of a 20 storey unit. The view of the beach is from the balcony of the unit. The Florida panhandle beaches are known for being pristine white &ndash; well, at least until the BP mess last year. But the beach was in pretty good shape, even though we had a number of quarter size oil tarballs wash up on shore on one of the days. The resort also had a swimming pool available for each of the units, so we alternated between the beach and the swimming pool It was hot and sunny for the four days we were there.
