God's firstfruits

The feast of Pentecost, a feast of firstfruits, symbolizes an important step in God's plan of salvation for mankind. The firstfruits of God's plan are those who are called now, in this age, and are having their minds and attitudes changed to become like Jesus Christ through God’s Spirit working within them. The apostle James noted that God "chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created" (James 1:18, NIV). (more…)

A new heart

In December of this year it will have been 50 years since the first successful heart transplant. Christiaan Barnard, a South African surgeon, made history on December 3, 1967 when he replaced the failing heart of a 53 year old grocer with the heart of a 25 year old woman who had died in an automobile accident. Do Christians become robots?

Some who see themselves as Christians do not agree with their Lord and Master in one very important point. Although Jesus Christi is the same today as He was 2000 years ago, these people reject Jesus' admonition to the rich young man who asked Him about eternal life: "If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments" (Matthew 19:17).
