King David's son Absalom avenged the rape of his sister by his half brother Amnon by having his servants kill Amnon. Amnon was David's eldest son, Absalom his third son. As Christians in the 21st century, we are constantly exposed to the societal currents emanating from the "God of this world" (2. Corinthians 4:4). We are an insignificant minority—the "little flock"—, which must remain faithful to God's standards despite the influence of the vast majority. (more…)

For some, the prophecies of the Bible are their "entry" into Scripture and their relationship with God, as was the case with me. As Christians, however, our way of life is based not only on the prophecies of the Bible, but on the "foundation … which is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 3:11). (more…)
