Our "high calling" together

Do we appreciate the calling God has given to all His firstfruits? We are all called to be part of team to serve with our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.

Jesus said that it is only through the Father that we are able to come to Him (John 6:44). We are all part of the body of Christ, and as members of that body God has placed us where He wants to have us for a special purpose or function within the body: "But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ . . . But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased" (1 Corinthians 12:11-12. 18).

Each of us is called to be a king and priest with Jesus Christ (Revelation 5:10)!

When we fellowship as part of the body of Christ, we are future leaders interacting with future leaders! Firstborn children interacting with firstborn children!

When we fellowship as part of the body of Christ, we are interacting with people called by God and given talents to develop and use for His service (Luke 19:12-19).

Jesus could have just stayed on the earth and done everything Himself. Instead, He trained His disciples and built His church (Matthew 16:18), continuing His work through them (Acts 1:1) and now through us (John 17:20).

We are called to a "high calling" — all of us! Let’s appreciate that calling among God’s people and the work God is doing in each of us to prepare us for rulership in the world tomorrow.

With these thoughts I wish everyone a rewarding Sabbath!
