New elder in the Netherlands

After about an eight year drought, UCG-Holland has a new elder.

Today was a happy occasion for the Marcos Rosales and Paul Kieffer small congregation of the United Church of God in the Netherlands. Marcos Rosales was ordained an elder, so the church again has a resident elder. Marcos is originally from Curacao, which is part of the Dutch kingdom even though the island is in the Caribbean. Marcos came to the Netherlands in the early 1970s to study and remained in the country. There he became a member of the Worldwide Church of God. He was one of the original members of UCG-Holland in September 1995 and attended the Feast of Tabernacles that year in Albe, France. Marcos speaks his native language of Papiamento and fluent Dutch, English and Spanish, along with a working knowledge of French. He was ordained a deacon at the Feast of Tabernacles in 2008. He has served as a member of the UCG-Holland National Council since its inception as well as the church treasurer and webmaster for the UCG-Holland website. Last year he accompanied me to Suriname. His language ability makes him an asset not only in the Netherlands but potentially in the Caribbean area as well.
