"Hey, mom, there are 2 of me!" |

At age 4, grandson Sean has started playing soccer. He is on a team of 4 year olds in a league of six teams. His first game was quite an experience for him – and those who watched him!
Sean’s team did not have many practices before the first game, so there wasn’t a whole lot of time to learn about strategy. The game is made up of 4 ten minute quarters, and Sean got to be the goalie in the 2nd quarter. He spread out his arms wide and watched four shots roll into the goal on the ground. I guess he realized then that some balls do not come in at hand height, so he stopped the next one. Since the game started in the early evening, by the time the fourth quarter started it was dark outside and the stadium lights had been turned on. Sean got to play again in the 4th quarter and was fascinated by his shadow, the result of the stadium lights. So he ran up and down the field and past his mom yelling "Hey, mom, there are 2 of me!". All the while the game was being played on another part of the field, which Sean did not seem to notice. 🙂
