Old friends across Mobile Bay |

Little could I have imagined that a fellow I once sat in speech class with at Ambassador College in Pasadena, California and I would wind up living 30 years later on opposite sides of Mobile Bay.
Dan Hall and I both graduated from the Pasadena campus of Ambassador in 1973, and our final semester there we were in the same speech class, which was a bit of a challenge all by itself. Dan married Nancy Embry, who was a year behind our class. Our paths didn’t cross again for about 6 years or so, since I went to Germany after graduation and Dan remained in southern California for a while and later moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. We saw each other at a Feast of Tabernacles in Virginia in 1979, enjoying a pizza together which we still talk about. Our paths cross more often now. Today Dan is a church pastor for the Living Church of God with a multi-church circuit in the Southeast. He and Nancy have lived just across Mobile Bay in Daphne, Alabama for about ten years, so we get together on occasion and reminisce about "old times" and wonder what the future will bring for our families and the people in the greater church of God community. Today’s lunch was a chance to catch up on recent events with Dan and Nancy and Living Church of God member John Burquist (in the picture with Nancy and Dan), my father-in-law.
