Another train station

Today’s Sabbath trip took me to Darmstadt, some 120 miles or so from my apartment.

I was supposed to go to Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof Bielefeld, but services there were canceled because one family was not at home, and the group is small enough that one family missing makes a difference. So I traveled to Darmstadt for the afternoon service, using the train as my mode of transportation. That is generally more relaxing than driving on the Autobahn, and it also gives you an opportunity to read, which is hard to do if you are driving a car. Today was a sunny day and there were plenty of people on the train. Coming back in the early evening, the Darmstadt main train station seemed deserted. I guess people stayed longer since the day was warm and we now have summer time, meaning that it doesn’t get dark until after 8:30 p.m.
