Keeping me humble

I have arrived in Mobile, Alabama to spend Thanksgiving with family, including daughter Rachel and her three children. Granddaughter Maia is keeping Opa humble!

My grandchildren Maia and Opa Sean, Adrian and Maia (ages 8, 5 and almost 3 years old) met me yesterday upon my arrival at the airport in Mobile. Maia looks a lot like her mom did when she was about 3 years old, the resemblance is remarkable. However, Opa does not look the same as he did over 30 years ago. Maia made sure Opa knew that by asking him why he has a ring on his head. The "ring" is my growing bald spot. Since Opa does not mind getting bald, I did not mind the question. But when Maia asked me a few minutes later why I am fat, that was almost too much. OK, so I don’t weigh the same as 30 years ago, but I would not say that I am fat. However, everything is a matter of perspective and Opa understands that Maia is entitled to her opinion, even when she is sitting on Opa’s lap. 🙂
