Auf Wiedersehen, Janet |

"Good Morning! Worldwide Church of God, how may I help you?"
If you called our church office in Manila (Philippines) during the late 1980s and early 1990s, that would have been the cheerful signature greeting you would have heard from our receptionist, Janet Soledad-Cabahit, who married office employee Gary Cabahit. Janet was one of the most cheerful and kind persons I have ever met, and a dedicated employee. I had nicknamed her husband "Rocky" when he first worked at the Manila office, and it was an honor to have counseled them for marriage and perform their wedding ceremony. Janet’s home was the island province of Romblon, just south of Luzon in the central Philippines. She was one of three sisters to work for the church. During her first pregnancy there were complications and she lost the child. I remember visiting her in the hospital afterwards. We left the Philippines in 1994 and Janet later had her daughter Nicole. Janet died today after a surgical procedure. Our thoughts are with her husband Gary and daughter Nicole and the entire family. I like our German word at times like this: Auf Wiedersehen, Janet.
