Grandson Sean is "student of the month" |

Sean was given his elementary school’s "student of the month" award for February.
Sean proudly holds his award on the way home from school. He is a fifth grader at his elementary school in the greater Dallas, Texas area and it is the first time that he received the award. He didn’t think it was very funny when I asked him what he had given the teachers to cause them to pick him for the award. Receiving this award came just a few days after he got 2nd place in his school’s annual science fair for his exhibit on the sense of smell. A couple days before Sean had to submit his science fair project, I was on Skype with him and he was a bit distressed, unable to spend much time talking with me. His mom had banished him from screen time (other than working on his project) because – following Opa’s bad example from school days – he had put off working on his science fair project until the last minute. But he got it done and wound up receiving an award. Opa has long since overcome that last minute thing, and Sean will, too!
