Today was my granddaughter Maia's first day of school.

Actually it was her first day of kindergarten, which is integrated into the school where she is attending. She was a little nervous yesterday (on Sunday) about her first day. With all the emphasis on "no bullying" in grade school these days and perhaps having heard her two older brothers talk about it, maybe she was a bit apprehensive about that aspect of starting school. Her two older brothers both started school in the same school, and brother Adrian will be a 3rd grader at the same school, so she won't be alone during the day there. Today she was all smiles and yesterday's concerns were forgotten once she got to school and made her way to her new classroom. It will be a good first year for her!
