When the Israelites stood near the shore of the Red Sea and saw Pharaoh’s army approaching – a symbol for sin – the Israelites were filled with fear. Perhaps they thought to themselves: "We are not going to make it!" Their immediate goal of leaving Egypt seemed totally out of reach. (more…)

Our sure hope: the kingdom of God |

"Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1; NIV). We do not now see the Kingdom of God on the earth, but God tells us it will be a reality. We will inherit the Kingdom via the resurrection to eternal life at Christ's return (1 Corinthians 15:50-52). Our belief in this coming Kingdom is, in itself, an act and expression of faith. (more…)
